Every coach, both head and assistance coaches, is required to:
Submit a Background Check request online every 2 years. This step initiates the background check process. If you submitted a background check request in 2016, it is not required for 2017. New coaches are required to go online (click HERE) and submit the requested information.
Complete the a online concussion every 3 years. The State of Ohio allows for the completion of one of two available courses. CYSA is now accepting completion of either course. The NFHS course is geared toward high school players. The CDC course is geared toward all ages. If you submitted a completion certificate in 2015 or later, it is not required for 2017. New coaches are required to complete one of the courses.
To complete the NFHS course clickHERE. You will then either register or sign-in if previously registered. Once signed in coaches will then 'Order Course'. Coaches will be given the opportunity to print a completion certification. It is recommended that the certificate be saved to a .pdf file and printed from the .pdf file. A copy of the completion certificate must be submitted to their Division Coordinator.
To complete the CDC concussion course, click HERE. Click on the 'Launch the Course' icon on the right side of the screen. Coaches will be given the opportunity to print the certificate upon completion. It is recommended that the certificate be saved to a .pdf file and then printed from the .pdf file. A copy of the completion certificate must be submitted to their Coordinator.
Complete a Coaches Code of Ethics form. Every coach is required to submit this form annually to their Division Coordinator. To print the form, click HERE.
